Transcribed from the original county birth returns (filed under the 1852 Sutton Law ). All births were recorded in a single list regardless of race. "Color" is shown as originally noted (W = White, B = Black/Colored, M = Mulatto). For many enslaved births, only the mother's name and sometimes the enslaver appear; fathers are rarely listed.
