Addington - Stamper — Adington/Stamper/McGhan - My mother probably would have been able to identify but, unfortunately it didn't come into my hands (from a distant cousin) until after Mother died. Here is what I know about it: top is my mother Mabel (Adington) Stamper, middle person unknown, bottom is me, Dorothy Lee Stamper. Pretty sure it was taken around Waynesburg, KY, ca 1939-40. Thanks very much for your help.

Frank G. Adkins apparently came to Lincoln Co from Union Co TN. I have this information from the RootsWeb Message boards. I know very little of their story, which is why I'm doing research of my own now. The lovely lady Would be Mary E. Adkins, who's maiden name was Dyehouse, of Lincoln Co. These are my great Grandparents through my grandfather William (Bill) Adkins Sr.

Recently discovered this picture which was taken in Rowland or at least in Lincoln Co. Kentucky. I believe it shows from the left: Marion, William and James Bastain with their mother, Harriet Catherine James Bastain Delaney, her second husband John F. Delaney, his son by Rebecca Jane James Delaney, Reuben Sylvester Delaney and probably some of Harriet's family or in-laws, so either Bastains or James'. I am especially unsure of the identity of the people from the man in the bow tie on to the right. Any help from someone down there or anywhere who knows would be greatly appreciated.

This is a photograph of my grandmother, Geneva Cook Bates (Cherokee Indian) and my father, Ira Bates, taken in 1921 in Knott County, Kentucky. They moved to Fishing Creek in Lincoln County in 1924.

Elizabeth Battist - I have included a photo of the wedding dress that John DePauw's wife wore when they were married in Lincoln Co. in 1805 and a photo of a painting of John's wife Elizabeth Battist that was painted in Kentucky, probably Lincoln Co. c.1805. Elizabeth Battise wore this gown when she married John DePauw in Lincoln Co. in 1805. She wore black for the wedding and was buried wearing white. Dress is in the Wash. Co., Ind. Hist. Soc., Salem.
